Nonna’s Bolognese

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 250 g minced beef
  • 250 g minced pork
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 3/4 cup white wine – sweet or dry
  • 1 jar of Katrina’s tomato pasata
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 cups beef or chicken stock
  • Note:
  • A family favourite, don’t skimp on the simmering time as this allows the flavours to develop and results in a rich and delcious sauce every time.
