Pinot GrigioThe nose offers up an abundance of wildflowers, quince and ripe, yellow pear. The palate is crisp, tangy and taut, showing Nashi pear and quince with a drizzle of lime. There is bright acid crunch right the way through.
Pinot Grigio 2019
The Pinot Grigio was harvested at four different stages and levels of ripeness to help build complexity of flavours. The juice was drained off the skins right away so as not to pick up any colour from the pink/bronze coloured berries and was then left to settle for 24 hours before racking and then fermentation. A yeast strain was used to ensure maximum extraction of varietal characters, while fermentation temperatures were kept low to capture freshness and aromatics.
Fermentation vessel: stainless steel
Type & percentage of oak used: nil oak used
Fining agent: milk products
Pears & apples, apples & pears, this light straw coloured wine an abundance of these characters. Nashi pears and red delicious apples jump out of the glass, with aromas of lemon zest, lime and cantaloupe following. These carry through to the palate, where they enhance by lovely texture and bright acidity. This Pinot Grigio has great length, depth and lingering flavours and is a perfect accompaniment to char-grilled prawns.
