Our reserve Nebbiolo is only made in years where conditions and fruit are perfect. This is a complex wine with great depth and power. Aromas of spice, red liquorice, earth and leather lead to a savoury and layered palate with subtle cherry, spice and chocolate characters.
The fruit selected is grown onour highest vineyard site (350 meters above sea level). The vineyard was planted using a new clone, Nebbiolo 230. Only the best bunches of grapes are harvested for this wine. They are crushed and de-stemmed into small fermentation vats and inoculated with a Barolo yeast which allows maximum varietal characters to come through. The fermentation reaches 30 degrees C for 4-5 days; the wine is then lightly pressed and transferred to new French oak barrels where it ages for two years.
