Growing grapes on our property for over 25 years has allowed us to gain a complete understanding of both current and potential vineyard sites.
Joel and Alfredo have placed great emphasis in developing the vineyard, and honing their winemaking process to produce some of the best examples of Sangiovese in Australia.
Understanding the wine style that each of our vineyard sites can naturally produce has enabled us to develop our own classification system for our Sangiovese vineyards. We have used this system to introduce our Sangiovese Series; this series includes styles we have been producing for some time as well as naming our current Pizzini Sangiovese and the introduction of two new wine styles.
Each of these wines in many ways is a reflection of the sites or site on which the fruit is grown.
A sangiovese rosé named after Alfred’s mother. This is a soft generous wine to be enjoyed while young and fresh.
A lighter style wine with spicy aromatics and luscious fruit, made to be enjoyed in its youth.
Nonna Gisella Sangiovese
Named after Alfred's grandmother, this is a medium bodied wine - warm and humble just like its namesake.
Pietra Rossa Sangiovese
Our new name for the well known Pizzini Sangiovese. Pietra Rossa is Italian for Red Stone, in reference to the iron oxide rich, rocky soils from which the fruit for this wine comes.
Forza di Ferro Sangiovese
Forza di Ferro is Italian for Strength from Iron. Iron rich soils, considered barrel selection and age define this wine style.
Our flagship sangiovese Rubacuori is an Italian word translating to Stealer of Hearts. Small quantities of this wine are made during only the best vintages.

Rosetta (Sangiovese Rose) 2016
This vibrant pale red rosÃ© is made with Sangiovese. The varietal red fruits are just the thing you're after when rosÃ© is on the table - plenty of cherry fruits, raspberries and strawberries, some musky floral notes lift off the top. The palate's all about crisp, dry refreshment.
Sangiovese Shiraz 2015
This wine has nice drinkability.The nose has lifted exotic spice and bright brambly red fruits (cherries and wild raspberries) with savoury undertones. The palate is soft, juicy and fleshy with flavours of cherry and plum. Soft, chalky tannins provide a lingering finish.
Nonna Gisella Sangiovese 2016
Named after Alfred's grandmother, this is a medium bodied wine - warm and humble just like its namesake. Aromas of lightly spiced plums and cherries lead to hints of chocolate, leather and lovely savoury characters. The palate is generous and full flavoured with good length, soft tannins and flavours of plums and cherries.
Pietra Rossa Sangiovese 2015
Pietra Rossa is our new name for the well known Pizzini Sangiovese. Mouth-watering aromas include dark cherries, exotic spices, blood plums and cherries. As the wine opens up there are earthy, savoury, cigar box and leather tones, which follow onto the classic Sangiovese palate of vibrant cherry and plum flavours. It is juicy, fleshy and drinkable.
Rubacuori Sangiovese 2003
Rubacuori is an Italian word that translates to stealer of hearts. This Sangiovese has a profound sense of depth and concentration. On the nose you will see dark plums and cherries, earth and cedary oak, some liquorice and cassia bark. The palate is majestic for the depth and grain of tannins, they are a real feature, carrying ripe, dark cherry and plum flavours and baking spices too. Very even, long and poised.
Forza di Ferro Sangiovese 2013
Forza di Ferro is Italian for Strength from Iron. Iron rich soils, considered barrel selection and age define this wine. Aromas of spice, berries and leather, lead to flavours of plums and cherries, and a complex and generous palate with soft textured tannins. This wine will cellar for 10 or more years.
